Stain Removal
Mud
- Brush or scrape off as much as possible.
- Apply detergent solution, blot. To make detergent solution,
mix one teaspoonful of colorless, mild detergent or dishwashing
liquid in a cup of lukewarm water.
- Apply ammonia solution, blot. To make an ammonia solution, mix
one tablespoon of clean household ammonia with one cup of water.
- Rinse thoroughly with water, blot until dry.
- If stain remains, apply POG (Paint, Oil & Grease remover
available
in hardware stores) and dry-cleaning solvent alternatively, blot
until dry. For dry-cleaning solvent, a volatile dry spotter or
a commercial spotter such as Carbona, Energine or K2R can be used.
Use in small amounts as it can be harmful to sizings, backings
or stuffing material.
