Stain Removal
Lipstick
- Scrape off excess with spatula or dull knife.
- Apply Paint, Oil & Grease (POG) remover (available in most
hardware stores), blot making sure not to re-apply stain on fabric.
- Apply dry-cleaning solvent, blot. A volatile dry spotter or
a commercial spotter such as Carbona, Energine or K2R can be used.
Use in small amounts as it can be harmful to sizings, backings
or stuffing material.
- Apply detergent solution, blot. To make detergent solution,
mix one teaspoonful of colorless, mild detergent or dishwashing
liquid in a cup of lukewarm water.
- Apply ammonia solution, blot. To make ammonia solution, mix
one tablespoon of clean household ammonia with one cup of water.
- Apply vinegar solution, blot.
- Rinse with water, blot until dry. Try to avoid wet cleaning
wool. Use POG and dry-cleaning.
