Stain Removal
Blood
- Apply cool detergent solution, blot. To make a detergent solution,
mix one teaspoonful of colorless, mild detergent or dishwashing
liquid in a cup of lukewarm water.
- Apply cool ammonia solution, blot. To make an ammonia solution,
mix one tablespoon of clean household ammonia with one cup of
water.
- Apply enzyme detergent, blot. To make an enzyme solution, follow
the directions on the label. DO NOT SOAK. Allow the solution to
remain on the stain for the recommended length of time before
removing.
- Rinse thorougly with water, blot until dry.
- If stain remains, apply rust remover or oxalic acid solution.
- Bleaching with 3-5% hydrogen peroxide may be necessary.
